The structure of GYTA53 optical cable is to insert 250 μm optical fiber into a loose sleeve made of high modulus material, and the loose sleeve is filled with waterproof compound. The center of the cable core is a metal reinforced core. For optical cables with certain core numbers, a layer of polyethylene (PE) needs to be squeezed out of the metal reinforced core. The loose sleeve (and filling rope) is twisted around the central reinforcement core to form a compact and round cable core, and the gap in the cable core is filled with water blocking filler. Plastic-coated aluminum tape (APL) is longitudinally wrapped and a layer of polyethylene inner sheath is extruded, and double-sided plastic-coated steel tape (PSP) is longitudinally wrapped and then extruded into polyethylene sheath to form a cable.

Description:
In the GYTA53 cable, single-mode/multimode fibers are positioned in the loose tubes, the tubes are filled with water blocking filling compund. Tubes and fillers are stranded around the strength member into a circular cable core. An Aluminum Polyethylene Laminate (APL) is applied around the core. Which is filled with the filling compound to protect it. Then the cable is completed with a thin PE sheath. After PSP is applied over the inner sheath, the cable is completed with a PE outer sheath.

The following measures are taken to ensure the water blocking performance of the cable
1. Single steel wire/FRP used as the central strength member
2. Special water-blocking filling compound in the loose tube
3. 100% cable core filling, APL and PSP moisture barrier
