Alteoptic is manufacturing a new batch of 5-meter LC to LC single-mode duplex patch cords for a customer in the Netherlands. Reliable fiber connections are essential in data centers, where a damaged fiber, contaminated connector, or poorly polished end face can cause unnecessary signal loss and make network maintenance more difficult.
These risks become more serious when a project requires many patch cords with consistent lengths, connector quality, and optical performance. Small production inconsistencies can create additional work during installation and troubleshooting.
To support our Netherlands customer, Alteoptic is currently producing a batch of 5-meter LC to LC single-mode duplex patch cords with a 2.0mm LSZH jacket. From cable production and accurate cutting to connector polishing and final testing, we control each stage before the products are packed for shipment.
We are producing a batch of LC to LC single-mode duplex fiber optic patch cords for our customer in the Netherlands. Each patch cord has a 2.0mm LSZH cable jacket and a finished length of 5 meters.
The duplex construction contains two fibers that can support transmit and receive connections between compatible optical devices. LC connectors also have a compact format, making them suitable for environments where equipment ports and fiber connections are installed at a relatively high density.

Before production begins, our team confirms the cable type, connector configuration, jacket diameter, required length, quantity, and packing requirements. This allows each stage of production to follow the customer’s order specifications.
LSZH stands for low smoke zero halogen. This jacket material is commonly selected for indoor cabling environments because it is designed to produce less smoke and fewer halogen-based gases if exposed to fire than conventional jacket materials containing halogens.
For data centers and telecom rooms, cable selection is not only about optical transmission. The jacket also needs to fit the installation environment and support organized routing through racks, cabinets, cable trays, and equipment areas.
The 2.0mm jacket used for this Netherlands order provides a compact cable structure for indoor connection while helping protect the fibers during handling and installation.
Key benefits for indoor projects include:
The specific jacket, cable length, connector type, and fiber structure should always be selected according to the equipment interfaces and installation requirements of each project.
The production process begins with the fiber cable itself. During cable manufacturing, the fiber passes through the production equipment and is covered with LSZH jacket material. The cable is then cooled and wound onto reels for the next production stage.
Our operators monitor the cable as it moves through the line. Stable cable production helps maintain a consistent outer structure and prepares the material for accurate cutting and connector assembly.
After the cable is produced, it is measured and cut according to the required 5-meter finished length.
Accurate measurement is important because the connector assembly process also involves stripping and preparing the cable ends. The cutting specification must therefore match the production requirements for the finished patch cord.
At this stage, our team checks:
Separating these checks into clear production stages helps us identify potential issues before LC connector assembly begins.
After measuring and cutting, our technicians prepare both cable ends. The outer jacket and fiber coating are stripped carefully, and the exposed fibers are cleaned before the LC connector components are assembled.
Fiber preparation requires careful handling. Excessive bending, incorrect stripping, or contamination can affect the connector end face and its final optical performance.
The prepared fibers are inserted into the LC connector components and fixed in position. The connectors then go through the curing process so that the fibers remain securely installed before polishing.
Consistent curing helps provide the mechanical stability needed for the following production stages. Our workers also check the duplex cable arrangement and connector orientation during assembly.
Once curing is complete, the LC connector end faces are polished. Polishing helps create a smooth fiber surface for the optical connection.
The polishing process must be controlled carefully because scratches, residue, uneven surfaces, or contamination may increase connection loss. After polishing, the connector end faces are cleaned before inspection.
Each patch cord is inspected and tested before packing. Our team checks the connector end-face condition and verifies the optical performance according to the confirmed order requirements.
The main production checks include:
| Inspection Stage | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Cable appearance check | Confirms that the jacket is clean and undamaged |
| Length check | Confirms that the patch cord matches the required specification |
| Connector inspection | Checks connector assembly and physical condition |
| End-face inspection | Identifies dust, scratches, chips, or polishing residue |
| Optical testing | Verifies transmission performance before packing |
| Final cleaning | Helps keep connector end faces clean for delivery |
| Packing inspection | Confirms that the completed products are ready for shipment |
We do not rely on appearance alone. Optical testing is an important final step because the patch cords will be installed in real data center and telecom network connections.
The patch cords in this Netherlands order are designed primarily for stable indoor optical connections.
In data centers, LC to LC duplex patch cords can be used between compatible LC interfaces on switches, servers, storage systems, optical distribution equipment, and other network devices.
Typical applications may include:
Their compact LC connector design can help support organized connections in racks and cabinets where port density is important.
These patch cords can also connect compatible optical equipment in telecom rooms and enterprise equipment rooms. The 5-meter length provides flexibility for connections between nearby cabinets, patch panels, and network devices, depending on the actual layout.
In FTTH networks, an LC to LC patch cord may be used when both connected devices or distribution interfaces support LC connectors. Because FTTH equipment can use different connector formats, the connector type must be confirmed before installation.
The product should always be selected according to the network design, equipment ports, routing distance, and required fiber type.
Alteoptic has worked in the fiber optic industry for more than 10 years. In addition to LC to LC duplex patch cords, we manufacture and supply a broader range of passive fiber optic products for global customers.
Our product range includes:
Different network projects require different connector types, cable structures, fiber counts, jacket materials, and finished lengths. We can prepare products according to the customer’s confirmed application and technical requirements.
This batch of 5-meter LC to LC single-mode duplex patch cords is being produced for our Netherlands customer’s indoor network and data center applications. By controlling cable production, cutting, connector assembly, polishing, inspection, and optical testing, Alteoptic helps customers receive fiber connections prepared for reliable installation and use.
